The Golden Root
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a perennial root plant and member of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae).
The dried powdered spice comes from the root (rhizome) portion of the plant. Turmeric root has a very interesting taste and aroma. Its flavour is peppery, warm, and bitter, while its fragrance is mild yet slightly reminiscent of orange and ginger.
Within the root is the main active ingredient, curcumin – the compound that gives turmeric its vibrant orange colour. Curcumin is in fact the healing star of turmeric. For centuries, curcumin has been used as a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory treatment.

We recommend at least one, but preferably two doses per day – and no more than two doses per day. Our blend is designed to ensure a perfect balance of ingredients, so even one dose taken every day will have positive results for your health and wellbeing. Of course, two doses will see even more!

Anything in excess can have adverse effects for your health – even water!
Generally, turmeric in any diet is absolutely safe, but we recommend not exceeding two doses (8 g) of our blend per day. Always consult a health practitioner before taking any new medication if you have a serious illness.
Golden Life Turmeric Blend is designed to fit into your daily routine with ease. Consume as a hot or cold beverage, or sprinkle a dose (1 heaped teaspoon – 4 g) over your morning oats or muesli. Alternatively, add a dose to your smoothie or protein shake.

Ground turmeric (60%), ground cinnamon (Ceylon & Cassia), ground ginger, and ground black pepper.
Golden Life Turmeric Blend is preservative-free and sugar-free.
- Our premium turmeric (Cucuma domestica), comes from India
- Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is sourced from Malaysia, Brazil, Vietnam and India
- Ginger (Zingiber officinale), is from Nigeria
- Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum blume) is sourced from Sri Lanka
Turmeric/curcumin may interact with certain medications, such as stomach acid-reducing drugs, diabetes medications, and blood thinners. Always consult your medical practitioner if you are currently on prescribed treatment.
Due to its blood-thinning effects alone, the safety of turmeric during pregnancy is inconclusive. As such, we recommend to consult your doctor prior to use.

Golden Life Turmeric Blend is a powdered blend of natural ingredients, blended in a HACCP approved facility in Cape Town. We do not add preservatives, so we recommend storing it in a cool, dry place.

Crockery & Cutlery
Curcumin, the compound that gives turmeric its vibrant golden-orange colour, may cause your crockery and cutlery to stain, if left to dry. Avoid staining by rinsing or soaking utensils immediately after use. For dried stains, household bleach may also assist with stain removal.
Teeth
The good news is that turmeric does not stain your teeth. In fact, it is believed to act as a natural tooth whitener.
